The Roland Professional A/V division announces the Streaming Video Switcher V-160HD, the latest model of multichannel HD video mixer from the famous Roland V series, for the first time with built-in streaming capabilities. Fully designed for modern hybrid productions, the V-160HD allows you to connect to the public live in full HD thanks to a complete set of inputs and outputs HDMI and SDI and to simultaneously stream on any web platform via USB-C. The V-160HD has eight-layer video effects, a 40-channel digital audio mixer for PTZ camera and a new generation cue management of live show that make easy even the most complex needs.
Compact, portable and easy to control, the Roland V-160HD combines reliable hardware features needed to effortlessly tackle live productions with the live streaming capabilities of computer-based systems. The software workflows are perfect for online-only events; the V-160HD also provides the essential pro features for both the presence and web streaming components of a live hybrid event, adapting the content for each audience. With various connection capabilities and powerful real-time processing, the V-160HD is ready for any production.
Eight HDMI sources and eight SDI sources can be mixed in Full HD, even with different frame rates and color spaces. There are built-in scalers on four HDMI inputs to seamlessly interface with computers, tablets, smartphones, game consoles and old 4:3 devices. Seven total outputs (three HDMI, three SDI and one USB-C) are available to power program displays, auxiliary monitors, multi-view displays for the manufacturer, streaming software, recorders etc.
The advanced workflow features in the V-160HD allow a single operator to perform multiple functions at the push of a single button. The thirty preset memories and powerful effects processor work together for linear scene changes, ensuring the transition synchronization of all layers. The 100 macros go even further, offering control with a single operation of complex lists of actions that include switching, DSK on/off, audio mixing adjustments, PTZ camera movements and more.
And for the first time in the V-160HD, debuts a revolutionary sequencer function that makes presets and macros more powerful. Up to 1,000 steps can be recorded in the sequencer, and each step can include both presets and macros. After configuring the cues in the sequence list, they can be activated in order, using the Next button on the panel.
The impressive V-160HD effects generator includes eight composition layers that can be assigned to the Program and Sub-Program outputs. Four picture-in-picture windows, downstream layer key, 16 memories for still images with PNG image transparency support, and more, are available to manage the creative needs of any customer.

Offering studio-quality sound and processing, the V-160HD’s 40-channel digital audio mixer combines signals from 16 video and USB-C inputs, to the microphones and other line-level output devices connected to the two balanced XLR combo and stereo RCA inputs. Wireless streaming of music and other sound sources from a phone or tablet via Bluetooth is also possible.
The Roland V-160HD provides complete integration of PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, with internal support for PTZ LAN Styled, Canon, JVC, Panasonic, Sony, Ptzoptics, Avonic, and VISCA compatible cameras. Up to 16 PTZ cameras, even from different brands, can be simultaneously combined and operated .
V-160HD also includes useful production tools, including support for tally light, triggering remote recording of Atomos recorders, RS 232 and GPIO outputs, and more. And with free remote control software for macOs, Windows and iPad, users can improve their workflow thanks to the extensive graphical interface on a computer or iPad.
